I found this size 4T girls sweater at 1/2 price day at my local thrift store. It was in my stash for a long time until it hit me-BAM!!( in the words of Emeril) why not make a hat. I used the hem from the sweater as the hem of the hat. The "pom-pom" was made from strips cut from the same sweater. It turned out too small for me, but my friend has a three-year old daughter who would love it. I still have the sleeves left, so I am definitely open to suggestions. I have also put this on my blog at www.doubletsewdiva.com.
